Introduction

Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) is the mysterious sound of disembodied human-like voices of unknown origin that are heard through electronic devices. They are usually heard in the form of sounds imprinted on an audio recording or through radio noise.

The quality of EVPs varies from sounds like groans, whispers, and growls to clear, human-like voices in the form of an intelligible sentence or phrase. Sometimes amplification, noise filtering, or enhancement is used in order to hear the voices.

At their best, an EVP can be a recognisable voice. You'll be able to clearly identify words, and the tone of the voice will indicate whether the voice is likely to be that of a man, woman, or child.
