Most ghost hunts involve some attempt to communicate with the spirits that haunt the location. In this module, we'll look at various ways that you can talk to spirits, but first, we'll look at an overview of how to conduct a séance, as the techniques that follow are most frequently used during séances.

It's not strictly necessary to hold a séance in darkness, but the unavoidable truth is that most are. Of course, there are downsides to this, as previously mentioned.

However, for the purpose of a séance, it does help set the mood. As well as turning out the lights, you can also set the mood by burning incense, but avoid burning sage, as this is often used for spiritual protection and is believed to drive spirits away.
